Welcome to my fine art photography website. This is my playground for pursuing what drove me to become a photographer in the first place. It is my creative outlet. Unlike my commercial photography work where I have to be creative on-demand and take direction from art directors—here, on MGFAP, I can take the time I need to work through the creative process on a more emotional level, spiritual level, or fine art level.

For example, how many times have you taken a photo and thought it was finished? Then later realized that it didn’t really say everything you wanted. Going deeper, how many times have you processed an image and thought it was finished? Then later had second thoughts about it. You might have thought you could have lightened one part to bring the eye to that point vs. another where darkening would push it away.

I’ve discovered that when you get up and walk away, for a few minutes, a few days, or months (hopefully not years), it is possible to find new things to do to the same image(s) that help define its meaning. It’s possible to “hear” what it wants rather than you just processing and posting.

Just like a writer who adjusts the text in a novel until its meaning is articulated and clear, or someone learning to speak a new language who is learning the meaning, and annunciation of each word spoken, fine art photography offers that chance for us to refine its meaning and the chance for us to speak its language in a way that is meaningful to others if we take the time to do so.

Who is this website for?

  • This site is for photographers who enjoy street photography, photo editing, and creating fine art photography.
  • It is also for art collectors who enjoy photos of life, painted photography, and surrealism printed as small or large format.
  • For those of you who may want to purchase images on various media: cups, towels, shirts, and skirts, well…it’s coming. I’m working on a shop where all your dreams come true.
